Denise Douglass MIAPH Acc. - Highgate, North London and North Cambridgeshire

About Denise

Denise began her clinical therapeutic career at the North Middlesex Hospital in London, UK, where she was trained and worked as an activity therapist for both the physiotherapy and occupational therapy departments.

Having taken a career break to get married, and later to have and raise her son, she went on to train with the Hypnotherapy Control Board (Europe's largest hypnotherapy training school), in hypnotherapy, hypnoanalysis, and psychotherapy.

Later, after qualifying in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, she (with her husband Paul) set up Avon Hypnotherapy, to become a full-time hypnotherapist and psychotherapist.

She is also a Accredited Member of the International Association of Pure Hypnoanalysts, whose membership is strictly by invitation only.

Members of the International Association of Pure Hypnoanalysts are bound by a strict code of ethics which not only ensures premium quality care, but also guarantees complete privacy and confidentiality for the client.

Members of the IAPH must also achieve a sufficient level of Continuing Professional Development, to ensure existing skills and techniques are constantly updated.

Continuing Professional Development takes the form of advanced training and research in the fields of hypnosis, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and related areas.

Denise is a clinical supervisor to many other members of the IAPH.

In addition to this, Denise undergoes her own regular supervision which is a vital requirement of membership, and one to which all members of the association must adhere. International Association of 'Pure' Hypno-Analysts members also have background checks done as a criteria of membership.

The background checks are done through the Department of Health's POCALS system as well as the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to ensure absolute client peace of mind.

Denise is now very pleased to have not only completed the International Association of Pure Hypnoanalysts Advanced Diploma Programme, but also to have been awarded Accredited Membership status within the IAPH.

Denise always welcomes questions and comments, and is also the former author of a regular advice column in the local press.

In 2008, Denise was elected by the International Association of Pure Hypnoanalysts (IAPH) to serve on their council of management.

In addition to this, Denise is regularly contacted by television companies and the national press, for advice and guidance on many aspects of hypnotherapy and it's use in a practice environment.
